At Knapp’s we offer professional bicycle fittings. A proper fit is the most important component to an enjoyable ride. We have thirty years experience helping riders of all experience levels enjoy efficient, comfortable riding. We take time to interview you to really learn about your past experiences and future goals in order to establish the philosophy behind your specific fit.
Even with all of our experience and skill, we still make sure to listen to the cyclist we are fitting and we guarantee every fit we perform. Whether you want a casual ride on Sunday morning, or to race with the pros we can help get you ready.
We do several fitting types:
Retul Fitting – $250 for first bike, $150 for second bike
The Retul motion capture system was developed with professional racers and the best bike We use Retul to perfect your bike fit. With Retul’s 3-dimensional motion capture technology, we can dial in your bike fit to sub-millimeter tolerances.
By allowing you to continuously pedal your bike in a trainer, the Retul system lets us see exactly what you’re doing as you ride. Retul makes our bike fitting process faster and more precise so you can be riding at your best, sooner!
Basic Fitting – $35
We will conduct a short interview while you are warming up on the trainer. We will observe your riding and make adjustments to fit an existing bike to you, this includes the following adjustments:
- Reach, stem length and angle
- Knee over pedal spindle alignment
- Check handlebar size and position
- Check frame size
- Saddle height and positioning
- Consider comfort issues
Advanced Fitting – $100
We will conduct and interview while you do some stretching exercises and warm up. This will be done on your existing bike or on our Serotta Size Cycle depending on whether we are trying to improve your fit or design a new bicycle for you.
Every aspect of fit will be addressed and you can rest assured you will be ready for long days in the saddle when we are finished. This type of fitting will give you the exact dimensions for a custom geometry bike. The following optimized data will be collected during this fit:
- Stem length and angle
- Handlebar size and position
- Saddle position
- Exact frame geometry & dimensions
